Selectivity Implementation in Biratnagar Customs Office

Biratnagar Customs Office has started risk based clearance system from 3rd June, 2010. This system is based on the Selectivity Module of ASYCUDA. The system allows clearing the goods in fast track depending on the risk inherent on that particular consignment. No risk or low risk commodities are selected by the system to clear without physical verification of the goods. The system also allows focusing limited Customs resources on the high risk areas. A team of Customs Officials and experts assisted Biratnagar Customs Office to launch the risk based clearance system. The agents and Customs officials showed commitment to implement and sustain the system. Biratnagar Customs Office is the fourth Customs Office in its row to implement the selectivity Module in Customs Clearance. Birgunj Customs Office, Dryport Customs Office and Tribhuwan International Airport Customs Office have already implemented the selectivity system in their cargo clearance process.
