Implementation of Broker's Module in Nepalgunj Customs Office


To further the Department of Customs commitment to strengthen trade facilitation and enhance modernization activities, Broker's Module was implemented in Nepalgunj from 08 Magh 2067 (22 January 2011). Prior to the implementation, a technical team from the Department facilitated the implementation and with the co-ordination of Revenue Administration Training Centre, conducted training programs to the brokers as well as the staff at the Nepalgunj Customs Office.

 

Chief of Nepalgunj Customs office, Mr. Purushottam Prasad Shrestha inaugurating the training program assured the brokers that the office will provide any support needed and re-stated that he is committed to introducing modernization factors for trade facilitation including the Wide Area Network and eventually Selectivity Module.

 

At the training programme, the brokers were enthusiastic about the implementation and welcomed the step upon learning that introduction of the module will shorten the time to release goods and various calculations are done automatically by the system.
