Customs revenue contributes a lot in total revenue structure of Nepal. Its contribution is 21% among total collected revenue and 26% in total tax revenue. Customs can facilitate a lot to enhance foreign trade of Nepal. Simplicity, transparency, efficiency and clarity are some of the tools that can enable customs to play supportive role to facilitate international trade. It is in this background that Customs Administration of Nepal observed the year 2005/2006 as the Year of Customs Modernization with the slogan "Customs Services toward Trade Facilitation". Since FY 2003/04, we initiated reforms agenda through the adoption of the newer technologies to implement the Three Years Customs Modernization Plan that ended in the year 2006. ...........( more ) |
